HOW TO ENSURE OFFICE PRODUCTIVITY OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD

We all know that Christmas is a special time of year, surrounded by a relaxed vibe and festive cheer – but, as a business how can you ensure that staff stay engaged in the business up until the Christmas 'break'?

Most businesses are happy to get in the 'festive-mood' but are often concerned what the impact will be on the business – we have put together a fun check-list on ways your business can get involved with Christmas, as well as ensuring your team stay motivated;

1. Play some festive music
Everyone loves a Christmas Carol (or two!), so try and allocate a short amount of time each day, or week to play some music in the office, it will not only help to lighten the mood but give staff a little fun in their day too

2. Snacks!
Everyone loves snacks at the best of time but Christmas fuddles have it all – why not arrange a weekly 'treat desk' where you can offer things like biscuits, cookies and cakes? Perhaps encourage staff to bring it in, so it also cuts your costs!

3. Secret Santa
Christmas in the office wouldn't be the same without the delights of 'Secret Santa' would it? Why not arrange it around a light Christmas lunch (turkey and stuffing cobs anyone) on the last week to share in the special moments?

On top of preparing your business strategies, consider the practical implications of Christmas, such as weather-related incidents: Travel disruption can all dramatically impact your pre-Christmas productivity, try and make alternative 'emergency plans' for you and your team in case the worse happens

In the meantime, we wish you a Happy Christmas and a well-earned rest!
